ACL Surgery
How long did it take you to recover?
@missc0nstrued to be fair - My ACL - surgery went perfectly -was told if I followed strict rehab of knee could snowboard at 6 months - booked a house /skied and rode at 6 months to the day - played hockey at 7 months to the day - so yes I get the addiction to return - but still I’m so sorry
What was your recovery like?
@joefrk I went through this with ACL surgery! The next phase is a “lag” — you tell your brain to lift your leg, and it does it but with a 2-5 second lag. It’s like your body is buggy 😂 it’s very weird
What questions do you wish you had asked your doctor before having the operation?
What other treatment options did you try before deciding to have surgery?
Why did you have ACL surgery?
About
ACL reconstruction is surgery to replace a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) — a major ligament in your knee. ACL injuries most commonly occur during sports that involve sudden stops and changes in direction — such as basketball, soccer, football, downhill skiing and gymnastics.
In ACL reconstruction, the torn ligament is removed and replaced with a piece of tendon from another part of your knee or from a deceased donor. This surgery is an outpatient procedure that's performed through small incisions around your knee joint.
